Hello Everyone,
So this week some of my friends went America for the summer and while they were packing I was giving them some tips on what to pack and I thought why not write a post about it! This post is perfect if you are going on holidays or just going for a weekend away. This post will mostly cover beauty, skin care and what to pack in your make up bag. So grab yourself a cup of tea and enjoy!
1. Prepare your skin
Treat your skin to a good cleanse and gently exfoliate as it will take away all the dead skin cells and your skin will be left feeling soft and glowing. Moisturise well prior to your holiday, you don’t want flaky dry skin while wearing your favourite shorts. Also this may be the most important thing you pack and it’s of course SPF.
2. Planning is key
When it comes to going on a holiday, trying to get all your bits done can be quite stressful and the easiest way to make it hassle free is to plan! Start off by organising what outfits you are going to wear along with the accessories this will make it easier for you to decide on what make up looks you are going go for. Make a list of the skin care products you use on a daily basis and if possibly purchase them in a travel size, this will leave more room in your suitcase and you won’t feel like you’re bringing the whole bathroom with you! For products like shampoo, condition and body lotions measure what you need in empty travel size bottles.
3. Nails
Avoid taking nail polishes on a plane if at all possible. The reason being is that they can explode in your suitcase and make an awful mess. If you must bring them with you pop them into a plastic bag and wrap it around your underwear. If you want to save yourself the hassle go and treat yourself to some shellac's.
4. Make-Up
If you ladies are like me, you will panic when packing the make-up bag. I always think of “what if” but realistically I am not going to get through 5 bottles of foundation! It’s an elimination process, first pack everything you think you are going to use and then downsize. Here is a list that I try to stick with:
Two Foundations (1 light coverage, 1 medium/full coverage)
Two Blushes (your favourite colours)
Bronzer
Matte Contour Colour
One Eye shadow Palette
Compact Powder
Four lipsticks (Neutral, Pink, Nude, Red)
If you touch up your make-up on the go, I would recommend bringing hand sanitising gel in your bag. This will help prevent any breakouts and keep you feeling clean and fresh.
5. Plane Time
When on the plan, it’s a good idea to remove any make-up you may have applied in the morning and before you land to re-apply. You will feel a lot fresher and holiday ready! Now I am not saying you have to do this so feel free to skip it.
I hope you enjoyed this post and it makes your travel experience more enjoyable.
Until next time,
Anna...X
