Hello everyone,
I am back after an amazing weekend in Dublin. For those of you that didn’t know I was in the final fifteen that took part in a plus size fashion show for the Tempted – a plus size fashion chain for women.
A HUGE congratulations to the lovely Avril Johnson the new “Face of Tempted,” I wish you the best of luck with the amazing year you have ahead. Each and every lady I met this weekend was so beautiful and inspiring, words cannot express how beautiful these ladies were and I am very grateful that I was a part of this.
I would like to give a big thank you to Rosemary Kearns and all the Tempted team for putting together an amazing night. I know they put their heart and soul into the fashion show and they really made the night incredible. Ladies if you haven’t already check out the Tempted store online to see their gorgeous clothes that they have to offer, I recommend to check it out!! www.tempted.ie
I have to say that this experience has opened my eyes. For some of you ladies that are “plus size”, you will understand that it can be a scary thing. Not feeling confident in your own skin, always being aware of each lump and bump is awful. Your mind is the most powerful thing and sometimes it can be your worst enemy. This weekend that all changed all that, I felt like the next Cara Delavigne (I know that’s crazy) – ha!! I would like to thank Vicky Mooney for that, Vicky is the proud owner of her own modelling agency – V plus models. She is a true example of what a plus size model should be – confident, sexy and smart. On the day Vicky made all of us feel like born ready models, helping us to perfect our walk and embrace our bodies. I have to say I was a bit star struck to meet Vicky but she really made us feel so comfortable.
For now, I am going to work on the better part of me and pursue a career in modelling.
I am getting very emotional writhing this post, but words cannot describe how amazing the event was. I am so proud of each lady including myself for putting ourselves on that catwalk and working our curves.
‘Girls of all kinds can be beautiful – from the thin, plus-sized, short, very tall, ebony to porcelain-skinned; the quirky, clumsy, shy, outgoing and all in between. It's not easy though because many people still put beauty into a confining, narrow box...Think outside of the box...Pledge that you will look in the mirror and find the unique beauty in you.’ Tyra Banks
